Madrid is the capital and largest city of Spain, as well as the capital of the autonomous community of the same name (Comunidad de Madrid). The population of the city is roughly 3.3 million with a metro area population of almost 6.5 million. Also, Reina Sofía National Museum and Art Center, and the  Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Art. Spend some time in the sunshine: El Retiro Park, Royal Botanical Garden (Real Jardin Botanico), Parque del Capricho, Templo de Debod, or La Casa de Campo.

Enjoy classical music, Flamenco, and watch the bullfighting, football or basketball.
